Team-Up Thursday - Grounded

I've been participating in an online course called Picture Spring where we get a daily e-mail prompt that make you think and look at the world around you in a whole different light. One of the prompt that I really like was "getting grounded". I put the camera on the ground and used the remote to capture our family getting out the door that morning. Then I found myself getting on the ground, literally laying down taking other shots. I suggested the theme to Jen and she agreed. Then I saw that Megan and Hip Momma picked the theme "FROM LYING DOWN". What's that saying...great minds think alike (LOL)!

Jen's shot makes me want to lay down in the grass near that tree and nap. You can almost feel the cool breeze blowing through your hair. Mine came about because I have been spending a lot of time retrieving these little golf balls from under the cars lately.

I thought I would share the photo I took for the class, I love that Michael is in his socks.

  2. I love the contrast between the photos this week. It's like suburban v/s rural. :) And that "course" really sounds like a great idea to get your creative juices flowing. I like it!

  3. I love your shot this week. The perspective definitely makes it very interesting. The shot you did for your class is awesome too. All the various footwear popping into the shot. Very cool. Thanks for picking the theme this week.

  4. i really like the DOF in both shots. and yours is so unique. i wouldn't have thought of an under the car shot, but it makes a great contrast to jen's grassy oasis!

  5. Oh, goodness. And haven't we all been down there under a car to get a ball?? Love that. Nicely done, team. You're right, too, great minds...

  8. Your "story" is one we can all relate too...we have all rescued precious belongings from under the car! Love how you captured it. Getting grounded really is an awesome way to view the world.

Oh, and I love that I can just barely see Nicolo's feet peaking out in the back of the second photo!

  9. What a very fun dipy this week! It is so good to mix it up and get out of our comfort zone...I ADORE the shot of you all taking off in the morning...that is great!

  10. Boy, I have spent WAY too much time crawling under the car lately, always in search of wayward balls!

  11. such a great set. I am a huge fan of this perspective. we just don't see things from this point of view all that often. so it makes it special.

  12. How funny cos I took my shot this week lying down on our laundry floor! There must be something in the air....or on the ground? :-D
I like the way these two shot combine. The line of the car gives a thick band across the middle of the dip and it's almost as if you're rising above ground into the lush green grass. Cute feet shot too! thanks for sharing it.

  14. Yup....Great minds think alike, since Christina and I did a "down low" theme this week too. What a coincidence for all of us to do basically the same thing but name it something different! I totally get the balls under the car between my daughter and the dog. I would have never of thought to capture that. Great job!
