Francesco's First Game ~ Candyland

We of course played by his rules, but it was so much fun. I couldn't wait for the day I could play boardgames with him. I love it!

It's friday and can you believe...

Wow, its Friday! I actually managed to post something, even if only a picture, all week. I am not sure but that might be a first, if not it's been a long time. Since all it's done and all it seem like it going to do is rain around here I felt a picture of water was fitting. I have the strange obsession of taking pictures of my kids hands and feet. Michael says I am weird, I say it my artistic view (as he rolls his eyes).

I like that you don't know who is on the other end of that arm. Can you tell which boy this is?

Here is praying for a few moments of sunshine this weekend.

What's that song:
Rain, rain, go away
Come again some other day
My kids really need to go outside and play
Come again some other day

Theme Thursday: Sunny

When Amy Jo posted the Theme for Thursday would be Sunny I was excited. I immediately thought of taking a cool photo with a sun flare. Well, there has not been much sun around these parts since then so no flare for you.

I did snap a couple of (out of focus, poorly composed) shots of my two little sunshine's.

Here is Francesco first thing in the morning with his breakfast. We have to put the cereal box and the milk in certain places and the M&M dispenser had to stay "right there". I swear he has a hint of OCD, but he is cute (which is his saving grace why he's my sunshine). To top off the cuteness he calls that applesauce he is eating "apple-puss", even when I try to tell him the right way is still comes out "apple-puss".

This one, he is just so stinkin cute, how could he not be my sunshine!

Swing on by Amy Jo's over at The Cheese Party to see what other have for Theme Thursday.

Desert Foliage

Who would have known so much actually grows in the desert. I was amazed at the foliage that we came across. What was even better was the gentleman that took us on the tour knew a lot about all of them and gave you some great facts.

Simmondsia Chinesis (Coffeeberry)

Actostaphylos Pungens (Pointleaf Manzanita)

I don't know, a wildflower I found at the Grand Canyon

Juniperus Monosperma (Oneseed Juniper)

Opuntina Cactaceae (Prickly Pear)

Yucca Elata

Ephedra (Mormon Tea) - they say you can make Diet Tea out of this.

Finally a Vacation

For the first time in 3 1/2 years Michael and I skipped town for a few days...alone! My wonderful sister volunteered to take the boys and my neighbors took the cat. We packed our bags and headed for Sin City...that's right, Vegas Baby!

First off we are not big gamblers but we came to Vegas for our Honeymoon (we were suppose to take a cruise out of New Orleans but hurricane Katrina hit and that wasn't happening). We had a great time and did so much more than gamble the last time we were there.

This time again we had some other plans (besides sitting by the pool and floating on the lazy river). We saw 2 show (Blue Man Group...awesome and Cirque du Soleil...amazing), we took a Pink Jeep Tour of the Red Rock Canyon and visited the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. We did also gamble a little and pretty much broke even (Michael would win back what I lost).

Here are just a few photo's from the trip.

Arriving in Vegas.

The good old MGM Lion.

This is the ceiling in the theater where we saw Cirque du Soleil, I got yelled at for taking that one before the show so I was too chicken to get my camera out during.

This is the Pink Jeep Tour we took to Red Rock. Its an enclosed, air conditioned jeep, sweet.

The colors of the rock are amazing.

More red rock.

This is a close up I took with my NEW 70-300mm lens I got from my wonderful husband the day before we left on vacation.

The west rim of the Grand Canyon

Eagles Point

Eagles Point Close up... do you see the Eagle?

This is my favorite and my favorite spot at the Grand Canyon, it was called Guano Point.

I also took a ton of photos of the desert foliage, who would have thought so much stuff actually grew in the desert. I figured I would save them for another post. I used the 70-300mm and got some really neat close ups. I had a fabulous time and started to miss my boys after 3 days. I was happy to see them when I got home yesterday. I knew the vacation was over this morning @ 4:00 am when Nicolo decided he was getting up for the day.

Welcome Home Mommy!

New Do

Since I mentioned that I chopped off all my hair a few people asked to see my new "summer" do. I like that it takes no time to blow-dry. I've got 2 kids and a husband to get out the door by 7:00 am, my time is no longer in existence. So with a 5 min. hair-do at least I will get it brushed before I leave.

My little guy also has a little trim of the bangs. Can you tell I did it, they are a little bit uneven.
