Best Shot Monday: Good Morning
This time of the year the sun does not come up till I am almost to work. There is something about how the morning sun peaks out from behind the trees that draws me in. I love the warm light and the long shadows the morning sun creates. I really don't have the time in the morning to go out, explore and photograph but today I had to capture the sun. It was calling me.

Best Shot Monday: Slide
Nicolo got invited to his first Birthday party this weekend. He got to go all by himself, no big brother, just him and his friends. He had a great time as you can see by the picture.
The one little snafu of weekend was me leaving my camera at the party. Yeah, I know what you are thinking. "How could you?"
Luckily for me the Birthday boy's mom found it and I got it back this morning. Thank you God!

Now I have to get caught up taking pictures for my Picture Fall prompts. Gotta get clicking!

Best Shot Monday: In Awe
Amidst all the chaos that is the norm for the weekends we decided to just up and go to the Zoo (well we were actually invited by some great friends). Francesco did not seem to be as interested as I thought he would. He spent most of the time wanting to just push the stroller, but never paid attention to where he was pushing it. Nicolo on the other hand was in awe. He love the zoo! He did not want to leave the Reptile and Amphibian House and as you can see he love the Polar Bears.

I am looking forward to taking them back, maybe next time Francesco will be more into it. I at least know that Nicolo will have a great time.

Best Shot Monday- i *heart* fall
I totally love fall, I am anxiously awaiting cold mornings and crisp evenings. I love how the days, although getting shorter, we still tend to spend more time outside at the end if the day in the fall. I like the feel of a sweatshirt and how your nose is just a bit cold. Smore's on the patio with the neighbors and the fire pit are even better in the fall. Kid's are back to school and tired by the time they go to bed. You name it I love fall.
This week though I held on to the last thread of summer and I am so glad I did. I had to travel last week for work, which you would think would be a nice break for a momma. Well it's not. You wake to check on your kids who are not there, and then not sleep wondering about them. You miss the smell of cereal bars and milk on their breath as they kiss you good bye at the beginning of the day. You really miss the light in there face when they see you after eight hours absence. When your away, your just way.
I decided to take a looonnggg weekend after my work travel and boy was that what the doctored ordered. We all hung onto the end of summer just one more little bit and had a great time doing so. We rode our bikes on the boards, played in the waves, road the rides, and indulged in the "boardwalk diet" (Curly's boardwalk fries and Kohr's frozen custard). We were only a hour and a half from home but it felt like we were much farther.
I am calling this one my best shot, I think it speaks for itself but I titled it:

Best Shot Monday - Thomas
I think the picture speaks for itself. I will of course tell you why I like it. I like the expression on Gioiella's face blurred in the back ground, they way Thomas made eye contact with me and the memory of the great day we had at their house.

Let me just say this kid is an awesome brother to his sisters and a great cousin to my kids. He's an all around great kid!

Best Shot Monday: Perspective
I really like when I capture a moment with a different perspective. I feel lately I have been missing perspective in most of my photographs. That was one of the reasons I took a break from my 365. I was starting to take a picture just to take a picture.
I was glad I decided to pick the camera up the other day and captured Francesco. He was explaining to me how to cut the paper so that it would be a "rocket ship". I love to watch him grow into this person with a big personality and big ideas.

It's captured moments like these that give me a bit of a different perspective.

Best Shot Monday: My Little Old Man
It was a busy but fun weekend that ended way too soon. We went from one function to the next and the boys had a grand time. Saturday we visited with my family to celebrate my Grand-pop's 92nd Birthday! My mother got the boys these hats to wear. Francesco did not care for them but Nicolo loves hats. I thought he looked like an old man in it, a cute old man!

Best Shot Monday: Half Dome
I've been trying to get through the gazillion photos that I took while we were away on our trip. Like I said before I found out I am not a landscape photographer. I also think that if I had more time and could have picked the time of day I was taking the photos they may have done the landscape more justice. I just don't think what I captured really showed how amazing it all really was.
I did find one photo that I really liked. The best compliment I got was from my husband. I put the photo as the computers wallpaper and he asked "where you get that from?" He thought it was a photo from the computer or one I downloaded.
This is Half Dome at Yosemite. I am looking forward to go back someday and spending more time. We had a good time but did not get to do all that we would have liked. Perfect excuse to go back.

Best Shot Monday
We spent a day in Yosemite and I learned that even though the scenery is AMAZING that I am not a landscape photographer. I have a ton of great photos but when I went through them to pick a best shot these two were my favorite.
We took a nature walk and the boys loved it.

At lower Yosemite Falls the boys loved picking up rocks and tossing them in the water.

I liked the landscape photos, but I just did not love them.

Best Shot Monday - First Communion
My sweet niece made her 1st Holy Communion this weekend. I remember how nervous I was to make my first communion. You could see the tension in the children's faces as they approached the priest for the first time and then the proud relief when they had finished sipping the communion wine. The best part is the gathering of family and friends to celebrate the occasion. Not to mentions she is awfully cute. Don't let this photo fool you, she is a little spitfire.

The path lead me to my family and a celebration of a sacrament. Where did yours lead you this weekend. Head on over to Tracey's for more Best Shot Monday's.

Best Shot Monday:Life is looking pretty Happy!
Tracey wrote: What have you been reminded of lately? How is life looking in your world?
Great questions, and this picture answers both those questions.

1. I am reminded that my, 4 in July year old, is turning into a preschooler. Yes, I said it preschooler. He won't say he is 3, or even 3 1/2 or 3 3/4, no he is 4 in July.
2. Life is looking pretty happy. I asked him to draw me a face and he asked, "happy or sad?". I of course picked happy. Then I talked him through the other body parts but never once did I touch the pen. He drew this all himself and I had to show his father and hung it on the fridge.
I had that Mom moment when your child reaches a milestone right before your eyes. I know drawing a person is some sort of milestone, but for me this picture is more so a piece of him at the age of "4 in July" I can hold onto forever.

“Experience is never limited, and it is never complete; it is an immense sensibility, a kind of huge spider-web of the finest silken threads suspended in the chamber of consciousness, and catching every air-borne particle in its tissue.” ~Henry James
I like this quote because lately I have been feeling this way, experience is never limited. I learn something new everyday, whether it be about myself, my kids, my husband, my photography or my job (just to name a few) it's new.
Today I learned:
1. Francesco can write the letter H and picks them out in all kinds of places.
2. Nicolo can say "Momma" but is still calling me NaaNaa.
3. Laying down and looking up through a tree has an interesting pattern.
4. Some people need to act their age and not their shoe size. My 3 year old has better manners.

Best Shot Monday: Time Gone By
I look at this picture and wonder, where did the time go? He was just an infant, unable to do anything for himself, totally dependent on me. Now he is getting in and out of his own chair at the table with no booster, climbs in an out of his car seat, goes up and down the steps all by himself and riding a balance bike.
Nicolo ~age 2
